The book, which is clothbound with text in both Danish and English by Mette Kirstine Eskebjerg Goddiksen, has 332 richly illustrated pages and measures 30.5 x 24.5 cm.
Discover the enchanting world of Ole Ahlberg with the latest edition of 'Flyvefærdig' - now with a beautiful red cover and no less than 100 extra pages. This third revised edition of Galerie Wolfsen's exclusive art book about Ole Ahlberg's life and art, published in January 2025, offers both new text and new photographs of works, which delve deeper into Ahlberg's artistic journey and creative power.

The new sections: Ahlberg and nature, including political landscapes, storytelling and Ahlberg's connection to Paris.

The first edition was published in May 2019 in connection with Ole Ahlberg's retrospective exhibition at Otterup Geværfabrik, Funen, May-August 2019.

FROM THE BOOK:

"There is no end to our curiosity about Ahlberg - both as an artist and as a person ...This edition, written to commemorate the artist's 75th birthday, features brand new chapters about Ahlberg's latest works, his artistic development and his sources of inspiration."

"..I use nature and landscape to intensify certain fundamental feelings, says Ole Ahlberg."

"In Last Summer (2024), a beautiful woman is sitting nonchalantly on a leather chair in the middle of a parched field. Tintin and Terry are looking on in astonishment. On the horizon is a dark forest, claustrophobically hemming in the absurd trio. There is something omnious about the scene. The title Last Summer has a double meaning. On the surface, it refers to convivial, albeit slightly odd, memories of summer; on a more melancholy level, we get the sense that the summer of the picture is the ultimate summer."

"I love sitting down and mulling over ideas until one of them works. My desire is to tell stories and, the older I get, the better and better I become at doing that."

"In the 1970s, he (Ole Ahlberg) used all his savings to get a poster for his first Paris exhibition..."
